You know how it is when you find something you love and you instantly want everyone you know to love it, too, but then when they do, you sniff that it's become too commercial? This is kind of like that, minus the pretentious "I knew about it before everyone else" thing.

Here is a random list of things we at the Beehive are totally into at this very moment: some new, some not-so-new. We invite you to share your obsession in the comments.

Felicia: "My current obsessions are Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" CD (guess that was obvious from my blog posting) and Jamba Juice's new Chunky Strawberry (I tell them to hold the peanut butter and load in more strawberries)."

Donald: "It probably isn't hard to guess: Broadway-fixated fan bumps up against MTV's new reality show "Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search for Elle Woods." I love the concept: Ten aspiring divas get thrown together in a cutthroat competition to replace Laura Bell Bundy, the original star of "Legally Blonde," who's getting ready to leave the show. So far we've bumped off two of the ten. The usual reality-show competition ingredients are here, of course: the weekly challenges, the three-member team of brutally honest judges, the "troublemaker" contestant who spreads divisiveness through the ranks, the going to a commercial break right before announcing the loser, etc. The interesting thing, however, is that these women are actually competing on the basis of talent, as opposed to the skills that are usually rewarded in reality TV (pretending to fall in love with Tila Tequila, say). And it's pretty wild to think that the winner will actually get to star on Broadway."

Mike Oz: "Mario Kart Wii. It's been almost two months and I still can't put down Mario Kart Wii. Online mode? Even more addicting than regular ol' Mario Kart. A close second? The new N.E.R.D. "Seeing Sounds" CD. It's hella funky."

Heather: "I'm obsessed with the blog of a Manhattan socialite named Melissa C. Morris. She's married to a man named Chappy who is 30 years older than her, she has an obnoxious greyhound named Monty that she treats like a child, she spends all of her time going to galas and traveling, and she has a bizarre preoccupation with Martha Stewart recipes, gin cocktails and monogrammed sandals. Despite all that, she's totally down to earth, and very likeable. I've spent the last few nights going back and reading every post in her archives – it's that addicting."

Your turn. What are you totally obsessed with right now?

I'm loving Liz Phair's "Ant in Alaska". I'm on the edge of my seat, waiting for her re-issue of "Exile In Guyville".

I'm also obsessed with this Moog guitar. I want to put it up in my locker and stare at it between homeroom and chem.

here, here to Seeing Sounds

Mike Oz is clearly as infected as I am. Even though also a Coldplay fan N.E.R.D has really crafted a funky, bumpy, melodic hour of tunes, ranging form pop, pop-hop, garage funk--i love it. I hope more folks can give it a listen or two before radio forces it the way of the dodo ala their first to albums. This thang grew on me faster the mold on old cheese--only tasted much better, dig?

Fresnan named-Oz why not a feature/blog of Seeing Sounds vs Viva la Vida track to track? Bloggers weigh in on what strikes their ears surfin fancy?
