Roller Derby: Fresno Grrls slam the door on Prison City
The Smog City Roller Grrls bout on Saturday night was going on in Valdez Hall, next door to the Miss California pageant at Saroyan Theatre.
If there was a Miss Roller Derby to be crowed that night, it was Smog City's Betty Rocker.
The speedy Ms. Rocker was at her best, skating laps and laps around the Prison City Derby Dames. She and the rest of the Smog City squad sentenced Prison City to a 50-point defeat, 121-70.

Many of the Smog City grrls wore Fresno State shorts, as a gesture to the baseball team ...

I'm glad the Grrls won, just mad that I missed it. Now where am I going to get my fix for fishnets and asskicking?

Hey Mike!!! Thanks so much for coming out and supporting us. As always, it was an amazing bout and both Betty and Hari Kari were awesome! We had such a fun time skating and more importantly, the Prison City Derby Dames were great women to skate along side and hang out with. Their vibe was very laid back, they were great sports and darn good competition.
And as always, the crowd was so supportive and have a TON of SCRG pride!
Did you see the girl with the hot pink gas mask?!!
