Ashley's web photos tickle me. "Look, here I am with children. Here I am with the elderly. Here I am with Hmong. Here I am with African Americans!"

Hey, Ashley, what's wrong with posing with white shlubs like me?? Oh, wait, there's photos with her hubby Paul.**

**NOTE: THIS IS A JOKE. I LOVE PAUL SWEARINGIN.

I also love how you handicapped the race, Bill/Jim. I was asked the same thing recently and your odds are verrrry similar to mine (except, thanks to Tom, I give Barbara 500,000/1 odds now).

Thanks for starting this string, because choosing our next Mayor WILL be very important for Fresno. Mayor Bubba has done some nice things for the City, and some crappy things, but the future of our air, our crumbling in-City schools, and the joblessness/homelessness issues are becoming more crucial each day.

The mayoral odds are strictly my opinion, not Boren's.

Bill, You sure have a handle on the Mayoral candidates. I really enjoyed the podcast you and Jim posted.

The sites look great and function well. However, how many of the candidates used local talent and knowledge to develop their websites?

Here is some info and links from the candidate's sites.

Jim Boswell; no credit
Tom Boyajian
Mike Dages
Jerry Duncan
Jeff Eben
Henry T. Perea; no credit. Nice Favcan.
Ashley Swearengin; no credit. Great used of video.

I gave up on trying to find sites for the other four candidates--a couple of them didn't even have printed information available at last week's forum downtown. The embrace (or lack thereof) of modern communication tools in this election no doubt reinforces the stigma of Fresno as "behind the times."
@Art Student: you ask a great question (which can be extended to the other races, as well). That said, while some of the sites look nice and provide adequate information about the candidates--not all do--none provide two-way communication (like the comments we're leaving here), no matter where the talent behind them is located.
I realize the web is still a new-fangled thing (insert laugh here), but by the next election I hope that candidates in our community use it as a way to dialogue, and not just post the information they want us to read.
