Degrees of Fresno: The Harold & Kumar edition
Heading into our third Degrees of Fresno, we at The Beehive are impressed with how great our readers are at this game. You guys have had no problems with Owen Wilson and John Krasinski.
So this time we're making it a little tougher by giving you two famous names and asking you to trace their personal or professional lineage back to Fresno. Since I'm quite excited about the opening of "Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay" on Friday, we're giving you both Harold (aka John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn). This isn't a one-or-the-other thing, either. Gotta get 'em both.
If you're feeling particularly awesome, then why not test the Degrees of Fresno a third time -- with Beehive Hero and H & K cohort Neil Patrick Harris. Or as we know him, NPH.
We'd offer up some White Castle to the winners -- but the legal department won't allow it. So this is all for respect: Harold & Kumar vs.

Both John and Kal are in Kumar with NPH.
NPH was in Doogie Howser with Max Casella.
Max Casella was in Leatherheads with John Krasinski,
John Krasinski was in Shrek the Third with Justin Timberake.
Justin was in Mickey Mouse club with Britney Spears.
Britney was in a bad marriage with K-Fed.

Ok, ok. This one's gonna be more difficult--
Kal Penn was in 'The Namesake' (pretty good movie btw) with Jacinda Barret (the chick from the Real World a few years ago) who was in 'School for Scoundrels' with Jon Heder who was in 'Napolean Dynamite' with Aaron Ruell....who's from Fresno.
John Cho has been on Ugly Betty which also featured Christopher Gorham...who's from Fresno.
NPH is on How I Met Your Mother which guest-starred Britney Spears who was married to the one and only K-Fed!
We could also say that John Cho owns a martial arts school in Fresno and teaches at Fresno City College.

Ernie, you got one of mine -- the obvious one on NPH.
Here are my others (off the top of the head, no IMDB)
John Cho > Christopher Meloni (H & K) > Audra McDonald (Law & Order SVU) -- of course, this also works for Kal Penn
Kal Penn > Kiefer Sutherland (24) > Eva Longoria (The Sentinel) > Tony Parker (married) > Bruce Bowen (play together on the Spurs)
I gotta think of another NPH one.

i got one for you Mike.
NPH(gay)> Ellen Degeneres(gay)> Anne Heche(kindagaykookoowanderedtofresnolookingforspaceship)
Yeah?

OK, got one:
NPH > Chi McBride (Undercover Brother) > Sharon Leal (Boston Public)
Sorry to H-Mac, who gets mad at me for using Sharon Leal too much.

Ernie = my hero.
You referenced Jacinda Barrett who, no matter how many films she stars in, will always be the "Real World: London" cast member with the tongue ring and the dog who pooped everywhere.
And yes, Mike Oz, you've been to the Sharon Leal well too many times (that's what she said), and broken your own rule, which is the Kal/John connection or nothing. For shame.

Oh! Oh! I got another one (thanks to imdb)
NPH was in Doogie Howser with Max Casella who was in 'Sgt. Bilko' with Steve Martin who was in 'Cheaper by the Dozen' with Steven Anthony Lawrence who's from Fresno!
:-) Thanks Heather...

Haha you posted this at 4:20.!

The shame, actually, goes to you, Heather. I did get both John and Kal -- it was NPH (the bonus) that I left for later, and only because when I came to leave mine, Ernie had beat me to it.
Here's another NPH (using IMDB):
NPH > Jason Segal (How I Met Your Mother) > Joanna Kerns (Knocked Up), who lived in Fresno.

Okay, not sure if this works or not and its a little cheesy but I have to share it:
John Cho was in American Pie with Sean Williams Scott, who was in the Rundown with the Rock, who has come to Fresno (not sure exactly when) with WWE Smackdown.
Does that work? This game is so fun, I had to try!

NPH --> Mike Clark (Sound Mixer for 'How I Met Your Mother' and frequest guest artist at CSU Fresno's Summer Arts!)

Mike Oz, you know that I have no shame.
Props to everybody! I love this game. Looks like Bryan Harley might be the winner this time.
