Shout-outs to Fresno
We're giving props to people in Fresno doing cool stuff:
- Shout-out to Diva X and the Xotica Show, which is celebrating the four-year anniversary of its weekly show tonight at Deja Vu. Here's a video and a flier.
- Shout-out to Fresno-based reggae DJs Reality Sound International, who are competing this weekend at San Francisco's Sound Clash event. Tonight is their weekly event at Veni Vidi Vici.
- Shout-out to the Smog City Roller Grrls, who are starting their season on Saturday night with a bout against the Wine County Homewreckers. Watch for an interview with the SCRG's Lola La Chola tomorrow on The 'Hive.
- Shout-out to Radio Bilingue's annual Viva El Mariachi festival, which is going on this weekend -- its 18th year. Too bad festivals can't buy lottery tickets. Check out the cover story in tomorrow's 7 for more.
- Shout-out to FLYP (Fresno's Leading Young Professionals) for hosting a mayoral candidate forum this coming Wednesday at Bankers Ballroom. Go here for more info and to look at the questions the candidates will be asked.
- Shout-out to Bryan Harley and AMF Productions for the short film "Why No Arms? It's the 22nd short film -- yeah, take that mariachi festival -- by Harley, a Fresno State graduate who filmed this one in Fresno in January. You can check it out at AMF Productions or FunnyOrDie.com.
- Shout-out to ex-Fresno music guy Rich McCulley, who's going to have his song "Take Me Down" featured in next Wednesday's of ABC's "Men in Trees."

Just an FYI.
There are actually seven organization hosting the mayoral forum: the Downtown Association of Fresno, Creative Fresno, Fresno's Leading Young Professionals (FLYP), the Fresno Arts Council, Chinatown Revitalization Inc., the Fresno Coalition for Arts, Science and History, and FresnoFusion.com.
They are also hosting a similar City Council forum April 9.

I LOVE THE DIVA X Show. But i'm biased because my step son is in it!
