Indiana Jones all wrapped up
Remember in October when all most many in Fresno went Indiana Jones crazy after Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford and crew showed up in our fair city to film a scene for the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull?
Well, The Fresnan did some quick calculating last week and figured out that the day the film crew was here in Fresno was most likely the last day of shooting for the movie.
A new video on IndianaJones.com shows highlights from "wrap days" for all of the Indiana Jones movies, including Crystal Skull. The date of the wrap party is October 11 - the very day the crew was here in Fresno.
Well done, The Fresnan! And worthy of the great archaeologist himself.

Thank you Heather...it doesn't make up for not being within earshot of Steven directing, but it's something.

Yeah, after they finished shooting at Eagle Field in Firebaugh they wrapped. They had caterers and booze there, threw a very fun party (so I'm told...I wasn't there).

10/11/08 was, in fact, the last day of principle shooting for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, although they filmed a few pick up shots after they left Fresno. Interestingly, the Fresno stuff was scheduled to be shot a week earlier with a second unit crew and doubles for the actors. After Stephen saw the location shots of Chandler he decided to direct the scenes personally; and everything got much bigger.
I was fortunate to be in earshot for awhile and after one take of a scene Steven said, "Cut......That was excellent Harrison. ------ Let's try it again and this time a little faster and more intense." There was about two seconds of noticable silence, then Harrison Ford grinned, then everyone laughed.
