arrow I'm not a doctor, I just play one on T.V.

You're probably wondering how Katherine Heigl, who won the Emmy Sunday night for overacting playing Izzie Stevens on "Grey's Anatomy," celebrated her tremendous honor the next day, right?

By sucking on a cigarette in front of a horde of paparazzi camped out at the Ivy, that's how.

Sexy. Very, very sexy. Plus, classy, sophisticated and not at all scuzzy. Just don't try this at home, kids. You couldn't pull off this kind of glamor on your best day.

I find it funny how easily you rag on her (or anyone for that matter) When what have you done with your life that is so big? I was unaware that you are an accomplished actress, let alone know how hard it is to act infront of a camera with a huge crew watching you. So, What I am driving at is please stop the strike-through/intentional edits. Your mean, unqualified, unenjoyable opinions should be kept to yourself. Oh, wait you know, I forgot you do act (and here is a strikethrough for you)you act like a journalist. You are a petty, hateful person who acts like a poor journalist, if that is the goal I guess you do deserve an Emmy.

Elizabeth, you truly are amazing. No, I mean it.

I'm always in awe of people who can read something and miss the point by such a jaw-dropping margin.

And although I find your opinion "mean, unqualified and unenjoyable," I fully respect your right to express it. I also fully respect your right to read something that you find much less distasteful.

Heather, I think this comment you made to Elizabeth may have exposed something and illuminated part of the problem--What was your point, it wasnt clear enough to see the first time.

I too found this to be another hateful and uncreative attempt at humor? Is that your voice? Does it truley lack variety and suprise? I realize Mark Twain was a mean satarist at times but he always had a unique, clear point of view and was genuinley funny. I can not say the same for the bulk of your celeb-bashing.

Hmmm 'unqualified'..? Do you mean Elizabeth's ability to know what it is like to act on a closed and very busy film set or as a writer/gossiper/internet blogger journalist? Again I find you writing and pointed critisim unclear.

Sarcasm does not play well on paper or in print. Thank you for respecting our rights to comment and read (no sarcasam intended).

But I have to ask then: What was the point?

Like Elizabeth I also thought you were just negatively passing judgement on the ablity of someone who had just been given an award marking the quality of that ability by their peers...and saying the smoking was hmm i dont know, not classy or not the way to start a morning after an Emmy award?

And no i wasnt wondering how Ms. Heigl celebrated her Emmy win. It's none of my bussiness and never really care. Maybe some do. Are celeb-smoking sightings hot topic pop culture news? Is that really a new hot trend? Has i taken the place of being drunk in public with your Whoo-HAH flashed all over town? Fill me in.

Geez, people, is it really that hard?

1. She's plays a doctor on TV and is standing out on the street smoking. Smoking is not doctorly.

2. Here she is at probably the height of her career, she won an Emmy, and she goes and stands out at the Ivy, a known hangout for stars looking for attention from the paparazzi.

It doesn't exactly exude class, does it?

I do know what it's like to act onset in front of a camera and large crew. It's not rocket science. Oooooo---- that was "sarcasm".
Can I throw a bitchfit about the pronunciation of my last name now?
(Unless you speak Polish, you'll probably say it wrong --- not sarcasm).

Love you, Heather!

Elizabeth and Adam also enjoy Shakespeare at a fast clip with bawdy penis jokes and overtly done humor at the expense of Shakespeare's nuanced entendre.

They also can't spell 'entendre,' 'nuanced,' or 'humor.'

Nor can they understand those concepts.

Nice of them to write in defense of somebody they've never met, never will meet, and never will actually know. Not that you'll meet them either, HMac, but as I've said before, you do get actual money for snark.

And there's no snark like show snark....

Nope it doesnt exactly exude class. But if the point of this pic and post was to highlight the irony--that an actor portraying a doctor (preservation of life) participates in smoking (accelerant of death)--it wasnt made as clearly as you just made it.

Maybe it was mired with between a dig at her work and that she was 'celebrating' those ideas stuck out the clearest.

And seriously many actors smoke, its not a new occurance. In fact i have seen these 'doctor' characters smoke on Greys Anatomy in that bar they seem to always hang out in. So I dont get it then. Past running the girls ability down its sounds like K. Heigl was expected to perfrom a double bypass the next morning. Sorry if she dissapointed by having a cigarette.

Maybe if we kept on task of having a point of view and something to say and remove the hatin' that would have been easier to see...after all its not brain surgery.

Adam, Elizabeth: Under my name, at the top of this page, is the phrase "Celebrity Gossip" written in hot pink letters. That's what I do - nothing more, nothing less.

I'm of the mind that, when it comes to entertainment, if you just don't get it, you move on. No harm, no foul.

I will never explain one of my posts. You either get my "voice" or you don't. Lucky for everyone involved (and I say this with no animosity whatsoever), there are 700 million other things to read on the Internet. In fact, there are 5 or 6 other bloggers on the Beehive who write fine, quality posts. It will not hurt my feelings if you choose not to read my snarky celebrity posts.

Michael, Tracy, Suzanne, Stephen, Mike Oz: Thanks for getting it!

Heather, its cool I get it-- I just dont like it. And i also have failed to notice the Celeb Gossip disclaimer oops.

Stepehen, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO ASSUME YOU KNOW ME OR MY TASTES?

And for demonstration I can spell and define (tounge firmly in cheek) 'entendre,' 'nuanced,' AND 'humor-- as well as play them subtly if need be-- From what I have seen and read I can surmise that you can not.

Do you even KNOW ME??? I dont think you do.

Where do you get off...? A guy that pays student prices at plays becuase...becuase he thinks he can OR SHOULD just to feel as if he pulled a fast one and came out on top a few dollars richer.

I dont know if Stephen can spell B-O-M-B but he has been responsible for quite a few, one a well documented catastrophie at the Tower-- some involved parties still waiting for payment of services rendered.

Go SNARK yourself before someone else SNARKS you for good, Stephen... oh and dont forget to support the local arts by paying as little as you can and seeing as much of it as you can so that you can ragg on it. You and HMac should go out for a night of hatin' on the town. I am sure it would be tons of fun for the both of you. Afterwords you can both get on-line and blog about everything you didnt like about each other that you face to face lied about.

Wow all this for Heather's initial misunderstanding of my comment. The only part of your post Heather that I am opposed to is the stuckthrough word "over acting." That is it. I know you are the celeb gossip chickand that is fine, but your opinion on someones acting abilities is not, nor will ever be gossip. I get the irony, not so subtle or clever but I got it. In fact I flat out said what my issue was, "So, What I am driving at is please stop the strike-through/intentional edits." Remember reading that?

Suzanne, I say this with as much love and understanding for who you are. Your work in Fresno however enjoyable, or not given the circumstances, is still work in Fresno. Totally different than workinf on a show like Grey's Anatomy. I know you know that is true.

Stephen, My full response to you is unlady-like, mean, and founded on a long time dislike. So I will limit it to this. No one respects your opinion on Shakespeare. You have a limited ability to talk about the theatre world, mostly due to your inability to be successful in it.

Elizabeth, I'm not really trying to bicker with you, but you said something that's a pet peeve of mine, so I kinda have to go off on it ...

So people are not allowed to judge actors/actresses unless they themselves have acting experience?

Likewise, am I not allowed to say that Larry Johnson is having a disappointing season because I've never played in the NFL? Can I not say that 50 Cent's new CD sucks because I'm not a rapper?

If you pay $10 to go see a movie, are you not allowed to have an opinion on if the movie was good or bad afterward, because you've never made a movie?

I think that logic is a little silly.

These people -- be it the rapper, football player or Ms. Hiegl -- are entertainers. As the name suggests, there job is to entertain us (the football player less than the others, but you get my point). They make their money because we watch them, listen to them or root for them.

So we, the public, can't have an opinion?

If that's the case, I think you can't critique Heather's blogging. Unless you yourself are a blogger ...

This is America and Freedom of Press still is in place correct? That being said, it also means we are free to not read something we don't like. Just like TV and Radio, I can always change the channel or turn it off if I don't like it.

If its in print, I can not read it all the way through if I don't like where it's going.

We can't all be happy with everything all the time. Blogs are public forum and therefore, the opinion of whoever is writing it. We don't have to like it or agree. We don't have to sit together on the playground or have lunch together. We just have to be civil and leave out the name calling. If not, remember this is a public forum and one can response in like to the original complaint.

Can't go on the Jerry Springer show and expect to not be called a name ha

Elizabeth, assuming you know me, (I do put my last name on my comments, I'm not certain if I know you), let me enlighten you... a film I did last year is going to the Tiburon Internation Film Festival next March. Whether you find it enjoyable or not, it's leaving the realm of "Fresno".

Stephen, I admire your tenacity. And your spelling abilities. As a teacher, I notice these things.

Suzanne, I'm not totally sure I can pronounce your last name, but I am aware of your film and honored to be part of your entourage. MUAH!

For Mike O and anyone else considering like minded feelings:

I dont see why you should'nt be allowed to have an opinion or to exercise it. I DO think that you should have to (if we are to critique) say what we know about that said 'thing; before we pass judgement on it i.e. this was 'good' or this was 'bad'.

Maybe you were dissapointed, or maybe you flat out didnt like said thing...thats real and understandable but unless you walk a mile in that genre's shoes you have no place ESPECIALLY if you write in a public forum for a living to say that it is 'bad' or 'good' becuase although you may understand how you feel, you may not know why you feel that way and at the stake of judgement in art--you may not know or understand how the form works.

Write what you know, know what you write.

Do we really think that any creative artists are horses that should be made to compete against one another?

That aside...I dont think making digs on people (famous or otherwise) qualifies as something that should be deemed 'news worthy' if it means one local persons opinion about Fergie having a 'Butterface'...fine thats your opinion to share with friends but in print? An offical statemnet?

I may not like Fergie's music or the fact that the Pee's make money for re-hashing old songs past sampling and closer to down right RIPPING OFF, but i would think that is a far different cry from calling a celeb ugly just becuase I can get online and do it under the blanket of a job a 'celebrity gossiper' or write an offending article of dialouge between Brit. Spears and her kids as she is drunk by a pool looking for her panies.

Judgemental, rude, mean and vacant of NEWS. Thats not reporting, thats not a simple observation with a point of view. That is just putting people down for little or no reason.

And if there is something deeper to it then that Heather will never let us know becuase as she wrote above: 'I will never explain one of my posts. You either get my "voice" or you don't.' I take that shallow a defense to reflect the shallowness of her posts and thoughts. Not that she cant relie on her myspace buddies to unite, bail her out and defend these hatefilled and seemingly offhanded remarks. Hmpf Marks.

So yes have an opinion, what would we be if we didnt..but should we be running around saying one thing is good or bad when we have a larger voice that others can hear, if we dont technically know what it is we are even passing judgement on in the first place?

Wow to think all this could have been avoided if the post had just been about 'smoking' and not another negative unqualified remark masked in another annoying strikeout.

theatre people involved in a catfight.

that's new.

I didn't know who Adam was until his snittypoop fit, but now I do. He's right...we don't know each other.

For two people who don't know each other, we sure do seem to fight a lot, tho.

Elizabeth, you have a long-time dislike of me? I didn't know who you were, but now I do, too. At least you have REASON to dislike me. I appreciate your reasoning and still love your posts (and respect the hell out of your work).

Speaking of respect for people's work? I love snark. I love humor. I love celebrity gossip. Therefore, ergo, I love HMac and her posts. Always enjoyable, enlightening and dead-on.

And Heather can certainly spell 'catastrophe' without the cutesy UK 'i' thrown in. ;-P

I'm not sure what all of this theater drama is about - I'm quite certain these comments stopped being about my underappreciation of Katherine Heigl's myriad talents long ago - but I want to clear something up:

Adam. Are you the same Adam who, a month ago, emailed Mike Oz, Donald Munro and myself, desperately wanting one of us to post a link to Britney Spears' new song in the hope that we would throw some snark Britney's way? Are you the same Adam that left this comment on one of my Britney posts:

"yeah thats funny not as funny as how bad her new leaked song is though:
http://perezhilton.com/?p=4290
listen, enjoy and discuss amongst your selves

Posted by: adam at August 23, 2007 2:02 PM"

This couldn't be you, right? Because you wouldn't post a link to Perez "Judgmental, rude, mean and vacant of news" Hilton's blog, I'm sure. Nor would you comment that one of my "judgmental, rude, mean and vacant of news" Britney posts was funny.

That must have been a different Adam.

So, Adam and Lisi (Elizabeth), is life so boring in Ohio that you feel the need to attack people in Fresno?

Posted by: A at September 23, 2007 4:00 PM

*****

Actually A, life working in Ohio is Awesome. Never would have thunk it. These 4 months have been priceless in term of the physical release that has ceased to be manifested in my body since i left the Central Valley's 'Pool of Hate'.

I thought it would have been good to stay in touch with good ol Fresno bc I was born there (like to see the hometown news) and I still have friends, as well as fam there too. I guess since I have lives outside of the area more then lived there in my life I was out of touch? It appears so.

Guess thats the last time I try to stay in touch with my roots in a larger sense or try to help inform my community with whats going on as it happens and notice no one else is up on it in the 'No' as you folks say. I am sorry for thinking the Beehive crowd wanted to be up to the minute as oppossed to filtered by about 5 hours to the minute for 'breaking news' (get hooked up to the AP wires if you want that I guess) or watch CNN.

Attack..thats silly. I just read what's written by ya'll or your reps and in spite of myself respond to it, if someone attacks me or ideals that I find offensive or irresponisible the I may call them out. I should be allowed to having worked in music, film, tv, collegiate education and a arts professinonal.

Have i not right think ye, to call a balk where I see a balk as an umpire of the arts?

Not like I speak out where my opinion has not worth-- say cooking a meal or painting a pointiliest painting with only four colors. I could say I like it or not, but not that I have should call it pee or pooh-- not my place to condemn judge or push, MY whimsical opinions on others (if that was the case check out what Mark Ecko is doing with B.Bonds HR ball or what is being said about G.W.'s positionon youth insurance/NY TIMES if we want to sound off visceral feelings).

Ah Fresno. Attacking Haters. 'Dont forget where you came from.' thats what they say. I remember my friends and those who were always a part of my short lifein Fresno. I will do my best to forget the rest. It should'nt be too hard. Life in Ohio is far too rewarding and I have too much to be grateful for by working and teaching in the Arts to worry about general enslaving Fresno hate to let it bother me.

Best,
See you in December (as they say-- you will know what i mean then) Dont Dream It (fools) Be It Questions? Find me. i cant be that hard to find, Fresno isnt that big if you know me or not someone you know might--A

I didn't attack you Adam.

I think you had the right to call Stephen out. He was way out of line to make personal attacks on people who's opinions differ from his. That action revealed true smallmindedness.

But I feel you in turn are attacking everyone on this post who didn't agree with you, which is your right, but I will take it as another insult on my person.

Good luck to you in Ohio. You may forget me now.

Oh, Suzanne. You hate me for absolutely NO reason.

But what the hell...

If you'll read my first post, tho, you'll see I was grating on them for dogging HMac for DARING to use snark against a public celebrity figure-type.

Adam later clarified that it wasn't the snarkiness, but that HMac's snark-point was poorly made.

Then came all the defensive patter that follows when I call out someone's spelling and use snark of my own (snarky post, people act all serious about it, snarky response by me, people get all serious about it, more snarksnark follows).

I think I'll have to place you in the 'all serious about it defensive' group. Right now it contains Adam, Elizabeth, you, and George W. Bush ("if you're not with me, you're AGAINST me! And not a patriot! Damn dirty apes...")

It's a friggin' celebrity snark-fest blog, people. Cheese Us Rice!

Putting all the other snark aside. I find it distressing to put down Suzanne's work in Fresno simply because it is in Fresno. There are many, MANY very talented men and women who are "only" where they are because they don't have the right "formula". Most often that formula includes being at the right place at the right time and ( as one sees represented on the television) has very little to do with actual talent.
