arrow Are you ready for some new TV shows?

GRAMMER.JPGThe 2007-2008 television season officially launches Sept. 10. Don't get that excited. It will be weeks or months before all of the new shows get on the air. It will also be weeks or months before new episodes of returning shows begin.

I will tell you that the first episode of the Fox series "Prison Break" is brutal to watch. Yes, it is a show about prison. And there is nothing pleasant about that. But this year, "Prison Break" is set in a Panama prison that is the toilet of the penal system.

So as you settle in to watch the new shows and returning favorites consider the following are 10 predictions of what will happen during this new TV season:

1. Not enough people will watch the amazing ABC series "Pushing Daisies." When the show looks like it is about to be canceled, thousands of fans will send flowers to ABC executives. The ploy will backfire because the executive has allergies.

2. On "Back to You," Kelsey Grammer will turn, stare and offer a snooty look. That should happen in episodes 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 12 ...

3. Someone on "Survivor: China" will express an interest in going home because they miss their family. But then they will stay. Didn't miss them that much.

4. There will be a wedding on "Desperate Housewives." The problem is this show has lost so much steam it can only hold on to viewers if two of the desperate housewives marry each other.

5. At least one CW Network show will last the year despite having less viewers than a Paris Hilton video on YouTube.

6. More than one murder victim on "CSI" will have been killed while involved in a sex act.

7. Someone on "Las Vegas" will comment on how much they like Tom Selleck's mustache. Selleck joins the cast as the new casino owner.

8. Jennifer Love Hewitt will be shown in a flimsy nightgown on "Ghost Whisperer."

9. The line "that doesn't add up" will be used multiple times on "Numb3rs."

10. NBC will trade its schedule that includes "The Bionic Woman," "Chuck," "Heroes" and "Journeyman" with the Sci Fi Channel and no one will notice.

For me the new season doesn't really start until January. That's when the Jack Bauer Power Hourâ„¢ starts.
