Fresno Wabo: It's official
Biz reporter Bethany Clough got the scoop on the Cabo Wabo location opening in Fresno. We're excited. Are you?
No word from Sammy yet. But we'll try to track him down. I still want to take him to task for his dig at Fresno, but I'll ignore that for now as the visions of tequila dance around in my head.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I missed that crack he made about Fresno.
I am down with sending Sammy some education about Fresno. I was all set to visit his establishment, but not if he's gonna be an ass about his newest location. Remember Fresno - he needs us, not the other way around.

What happens in Fresno stays in Fresno?
Heather, I've recently been to Cabo San Lucas and Sammy doesn't need us. Trust me.

There is always something to do in Fresno when Heather is around.

Yeah, Sammy kind of backhanded Fresno by saying that he's been here and there's nothing to do. Can't argue with him too much if he's comparing Cabo or the immeasurable number of international cites he's experienced to Fresno. But he's always done well here by numbers and I don't think I can imagine a casual lunch at Granite Park's location until mid-'08 at best due to the typical Fresnan's "migration" to new places (restaurants, bars, clubs, and--sigh--grocery stores) which will cause a Disney-esque line for months after opening. Not to mention the fact that The Red Rocker does play live from time to time at his establishments.
Bring it on if it means that bands touring on their first or second albums will have another outlet to perform in. But if it becomes another "club" with a DJ spinning "dmm, dmm, dmm" beats after yet another local washout psuedo pop/punk/emo/whatever band bores everyone except the band's girlfriends, Fresno will remain Fresno.

99% of the time I would bash a person that bashes Fresno but...Sammy is always joking and throwing out lines. He was just trying to be funny, he wasn't trying to bash us. It was just a line.
Fresnan's have a sense of humor too right?
What I worry about is people saying things like "Fresno will remain Fresno." That's the kind talk we need to stop.

Sammy was just being Sammy. He takes his music and his fan's seriously. It's just his "way". Plus maybe he's giving Eddie another place to quaff a few. Just kiddin'!Everyone know's there are 2 sides to every story. I've seen video clips and read articles in which he just praise the hell out of Fresno.Plus he just doesn't open the CABO cantina's anywhere.

Ha! I didn't realize there was this much love for Sammy Hagar in the world.
That'll teach me to go defending Fresno against over-the-hill yet highly successful rockers! (Oops. Damn backhanded compliments...)
In all seriousness, I'm glad Sammy chose Fresno for his business. Viva Fresno!

While I understand what you guys are saying ... that Sammy's Sammy and the fans get it ... that's still not a very good business move, semi-insulting the market you're moving into ...
Not that matters, if it's new and perceived as cool and you have to wait to get in, Fresnans will flock to it.

He should say screw Fresno and come to Houston Texas. With our hispanic culture and great restaraunts he would bring the most unique experience to the out-to-eat capital. Where ever there is a Cabo Wabo it's always 5150 time.

Sammy used to come to Fresno often. His old band Montrous used to play here alot too. Some of the guys I work with used to party with him when they would be in town. I think Sammy likes Fresno.

Lets not forget Sammy already had some sort of history with Fresno. Not only did Bill Electric Church from his old band hail from Fresno and I believe McLane High School, Sammy has alot of love for Fresno. We love him just as well!

Sammy loves Fresno & Fresno loves Sammy! Bill Church is from Fresno. Sammy knows that he will add more fun to Fresno, no doubt!! Sammy would never bash Fresno, if you take it that way...don't go!! More fun for the rest of us! Bwahahahahaha
