Listening to Blake Jones and the Trike Shop takes me back to being a kid and listening to my parents' music. It's that pop of the '60s, rich with Beatles influence and just plain enchanting.

Yes, I'm young. But hardly the youngest. At Saturday's matinee show at Starline, two little ones -- probably ages 3 and 5 -- were in the front row going nuts, dancing along to the jolly sounds of the Trike Shop.

As the band prepares to head to England for a handful of shows in May, it tries to hook Roguers with "Send the Trike Shop to Liverpool" -- a shameless fundraiser yes, but also a damn cool show that features Trike Shop favorites as well as homages to Bob Dylan, the Beatles and other pop favorites from yesteryear.

Saturday afternoon, the crowd got two renditions of "Send the Band to Liverpool," an easy sing-along that had the nice-sized afternoon crowd smiling. At one point, Blake's daughter, Chelsea Jones, came on stage and played the french horn, then came back later for a Bob Dylan homage, looking stonefaced at the crowd while flipping cards with song lyrics to the ground.

And, of course, Blake busted out his theramin. It's all in a day's work for the Trike Shop. Look out, Liverpool.
